What is the SUM Selective Surcharging Program?
SUM is a selective surcharging program offered by Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank {the Bank} and administered by NYCE Payments Network, LLC, a Metavante company. Cardholders of Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank can make withdrawals without paying a surcharge at designated ATMs of other SUM Program Members.
Do I need to sign up at Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank, or is a "special" SUM ATM card required?
No. Simply use your existing Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank ATM or Debit Card the same way you now do.
How do I find a SUM Program ATM?
To locate SUM Program ATMs, visit www.sum-atm.com. Be sure to look for the SUM logo on participating SUM ATMs.
How many SUM ATMs are available, and are there any outside of the United States?
There are currently more than 5,100 SUM Program ATMs nationwide and in Puerto Rico. Visit www.sum-atm.com to locate participating SUM ATMs in your area. Additional locations continue to be added every month.
For other financial institutions participating in the SUM Program, can I use all of their ATMs?
Specific ATM participation depends upon the financial institution, as not every ATM of every SUM Program Member participates in the SUM Program. Be sure to look for the SUM logo on participating ATMs.
What is the difference between a surcharge fee and a service fee?
A surcharge is a fee assessed by the ATM owner not by the Bank and is clearly itemized on your ATM receipt. This is the charge you avoid by using a SUM Program ATM. A service fee is separate and distinct charge assessed by the Bank for withdrawals or other types of transactions conducted at ATMs that the Bank doesn't own.
Does Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank charge me a fee for using a SUM Program ATM?
The Bank does impose a fee called a card activity charge. This charge currently is $1.00 and is separate and distinct from a surcharge fee which is assessed by the ATM owner. However, this charge will be refunded to the account holder and credited to the account the following business day.
