Established in 2019, the Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation takes a thoughtful, forward-looking approach to community giving, supporting the nonprofits, educators, and students who enrich Martha's Vineyard and Falmouth. Grants
The Charitable Foundation provides grants to 501(c)(3) organizations on Martha's Vineyard and in Falmouth, working in areas such as housing, education, healthcare, the environment, and community services. Grants are reviewed on a monthly or quarterly basis, depending on the request amount.
Sponsorships
The Charitable Foundation supports the fundraising efforts of local nonprofits through event sponsorships. From athletic tournaments to arts festivals, these events help build a vibrant, connected community while raising funds for organizations doing important work.
Scholarships
Each year, the Charitable Foundation awards scholarships to students from Martha's Vineyard and Falmouth pursuing higher education and careers in public service. Three programs are currently available: College Scholarships, the Philip J. Norton, Jr. Scholarship, and the Ronald H. Rappaport Scholar Fund.
Giving in Action
This grant will support the capital campaign to build a space that fosters learning, connection, and community growth. Through this initiative, the YMCA strengthens its capacity to support children, families, and residents across the region while deepening its role as a cornerstone for community well-being.
Amy is pursuing a M.Ed in Nonprofit Management and Community Engagement at Merrimack College. She has supported Island families since 2017 with her work with MV Community Services. Her scholarship supports her continued focus on youth mentorship and community programs.
An Art of Teaching Grant helped Ben Hughes build a recording studio at the Martha's Vineyard Public Charter School.
