Martha's Vineyard Bank

February was a big month for us, with the official launch of the Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation with an initial donation of $1 million dollars in recognition of the Bank's 110th anniversary. The Foundation will focus on supporting high-impact non-profit organizations and community service initiatives to enhance local societal and economic development. We at Martha's Vineyard Bank are very proud of this endeavor.

In March we participated in the Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce's "Perfect Pitch" event, a Shark Tank-style event where Island entrepreneurs competed for over $10,000 to support their small businesses. We also enjoyed a "Holton Rower-style" art display by some talented West Tisbury School 6th graders at the month-long art show at our Chilmark Branch.

Martha's Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund also awarded three grants in its first quarter cycle totaling $7,135 to Island nonprofits: Friends of Edgartown Public Library's "Summer Music on the Lawn" series, Martha's Vineyard Cancer Support Group Inc., for its "Evening Under the Stars" benefit, and Island Community Chorus for its "Cantata for Mezzo Soprano & Chorus," based on the life and writings of Nancy Luce of West Tisbury.

If February and March weren't awesome enough, two of our business experts got articles published in Cape & Plymouth Business Magazine, WooHoo!
