Fraud Alert: Caller ID Spoofing

Scammers are disguising their numbers to appear as Martha's Vineyard Bank on your caller ID. These calls aren't from us and are intended to steal your personal information.

What's happening: Scammers use technology to fake trusted phone numbers, making their calls appear legitimate.

Protect yourself:

  • We never ask for passwords, full debit card numbers, or PINs over the phone
  • If something feels off, hang up and call us directly at 508-627-4266
  • Never share sensitive information with unsolicited callers

Your safety is our priority. For more information on fraud protection, please visit our Fraud Prevention page or contact the Solutions Desk.

It’s easy to get your Social Security or SSI (Supplemental Security Income) benefits directly deposited into your account.

If you are currently receiving benefits and you have a Martha’s Vineyard Bank account:

  • Use online banking to start or change Direct Deposit (Social Security benefits only), or
  • Contact a Martha’s Vineyard Bank representative for assistance, or
  • Call Social Security toll-free at 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778), or
  • Visit your local Social Security office

If you are not currently receiving benefits but plan to apply:

Tell the Social Security representative when you apply for benefits that you want to sign up for Direct Deposit. If you already have a Martha’s Vineyard Bank account, have your checkbook or a copy of your bank statement with you.

You can download a direct deposit form on the Martha's Vineyard bank Switch Kit page.
